Introduction
At the University of Greater Manchester, your safety and wellbeing are our top priority. That’s why we’ve designed a series of short, interactive tutorials to help you stay safe while you study and enjoy university life.
These tutorials cover important topics. By working through each one and completing the quick assessments, you’ll earn digital badges to show your commitment to keeping yourself and our community safe.
Some of these tutorials are mandatory – you’ll need to complete them at the start of each academic year. Make sure you check which ones apply to you and get started as soon as possible. If, for any reason, you decide not to complete the tutorials, you do have the option to opt out – but you’ll need to fill in a short questionnaire to let us know.
Whether you’re new to university or returning for another year, these tutorials are here to support you. Learn, earn your badges, and stay safe!
Tutorial Accessibility
We’ve built these LEAP Online Tutorials to be as easy to use as possible. You can use the Read Aloud feature in Microsoft Edge to listen to the content on each page, and all our videos have transcripts available through the Closed Captions button [CC] within the video player. If you’d like a printed version, you can print individual pages. But before you do, please think about whether you really need to print — going digital is often the more sustainable choice for the environment.

The following section contains sensitive content, that might trigger unwelcome or distressing memories or thoughts. While individuals may respond differently to content, it is not always possible to anticipate, or alert users to, all potential triggers. If you find these topics challenging, you are free to stop at any stage.
